Good news for Janet Jackson fans. The singer announced she will be releasing a new album as well as going on tour this year.
Jackson took to Twitter to announce this exciting comeback news. The “All For You” singer posted a short video on her birthday Saturday featuring footage that appears to take place in a recording studio. Though Jackson is nowhere to be seen, her voice can be heard in a voice over.
Jackson smoothly says, “I promised you’d hear it from my lips, and now you will. This year: new music, new world tour, a new movement. I’ve been listening, let’s keep the conversation going.”
This intriguing tweet also featured the hashtag #ConversationsInACafé, which is believed to be the title of either her next single or upcoming album according to L.A. Times.
According to Huffington Post there were rumors of Jackson releasing a new album earlier this month, but the singer’s label denied it last week.
Fans of Jackson have been anticipating this album for a long time now. Her last studio album, “Discipline,” was released in 2008 and the singer has been living a rather “low-key life” since marrying Wissam Al Mana in 2012, as noted by E Online.
No official music release dates or world tour dates have been confirmed.
