The real Colonel Sanders may have died in 1980, but KFC has brought him back with a new set of ads starring Saturday Night Live’s Darrell Hammond as the Colonel.
It’s also interesting to see that the company has brought back its full name at the end of the three ads that launched on Monday. At the end of each ad, the full “Kentucky Fried Chicken” name is displayed, as if the company is no longer afraid to show off the word “fried.”
Here’s the first commercial, with the Colonel announcing his return from the grave:
In the second, he walks dangerously through traffic.
And in the last one, he pays tribute to his favorite music.
KFC isn’t the only fast food chain to revive a mascot. Last week, McDonald’s brought back the Hamburglar.
