Should director Antonie Fuqua (Training Day) feel game to remake the 1960 Western classic The Magnificent Seven — already a remake of Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai — he at the very least should have the cast to back him up. So far he's had little trouble in that regard, as Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Vincent D'Onofrio, Haley Bennett, Jason Mamoa and Wagner Moura have all agreed to join, and his good fortune continues as Matt Bomer joins the pedigree for the new MGM film.

Bomer will play the husband to the wife (Bennett) who hires the gunslinger group to protect her town from dirty bandits and robber who take over their town. THR got the exclusive on the news.

Washington was the first to join the feature last June, with Pratt on board in December. Hawke and D'Onofrio came on this March, with Bennett and Wagner signed on soon after. Mamoa was the last before Bomer to join, signing the ink earlier this month.

The remake comes from a screenplay by Nic Pizzolatto (True Detective) and John Lee Hancock. This is Fuqua's follow-up to this summer's Southpaw, released on July 24, although no official start date for production on this was announced at this time.

Bomer is on the big screen next with Magic Mike XXL on July 1. Later on, he returns to the small screen to star in the latest season of American Horror Story, titled American Horror Story: Hotel, where he co-stars alongside Lady Gaga. He also stars in The Nice Guys and Monty Clift next year.
