HBO has released the documentary Montage of Heck which showcases the life and fame that Kurt Cobain experienced while he was alive. Director of the film, Brett Morgen, is speaking out about the project and explained that he has shown the film to Cobain's mother and she didn't like the final product.

The Huffington Post reported that Morgen spoke with HuffPost Live's Ricky Camilleri on Friday and explained that he did screen the film for Cobain's mother and sister. Wendy Cobain was furious.

"When I showed the film to Kurt's mom and sister, they were furious. Wouldn't you be? I said to Wendy, Kurt's mom, before she saw the movie, 'There are things in this movie that your son would not want you to see.' What mother wants to see their child on heroin? ... Of course she had [seen him high], but does she want that for the world to see?" Morgen explained on the HuffPost show.

Cobain's sister Kimberly Cobain was "embarrassed" by the film and had said that she wished that Cobain's drug use hadn't been profiled in the film.

Entertainment Weekly reported that Frances Bean Cobain, daughter of Kurt, wanted the project to be raw and honest about her father.
