Another day brought another round of rain to the already-drenched South leaving behind more flooding and more damage in the region.

The Associated Press noted that another line of thunderstorms rolled through the Lone Star State overnight and dumped more than 7 inches.

The latest round of storms are being blamed for at least two more deaths in Dallas and Houston, which can be added to the 22 deaths in both Texas and Oklahoma.

As previously reported, the heavy rainfall began over the Memorial Holiday weekend. The system caused massive flooding in the two states and even spawned a tornado in Ciudad Acuna, Mexico, which killed more than a dozen people.

The powerful storms flooded roadways, businesses, homes and left countless people in the dark prompting Gov. Greg Abbott to place several counties in Texas under an emergency disaster declaration.

The aftermath of the disaster has proved that even if the rainfall is over for now, the region still won’t feel any relief for a long time.
