PacSun has apologized for a T-shirt that featured the American flag upside-down and has pulled it from its stores. The shirt has also been removed from its online store.

Social media users caught wind of the shirt over the Memorial Day weekend, as many felt it was insulting. After all, the upside-down flag should never be displayed that way unless someone is in serious danger or distress.

PacSun, also known as Pacific Sunwear, did remove it from their stores after the backlash. However, it was available online for some time before the retailer finally pulled it. The company also issued a statement on Facebook.

“As a retailer grounded in youth culture, PacSun values artistic and creative expression through the brands that we sell in our stores,” the company’s statement reads. “Out of respect for those who have put their lives on the line for our country, we have decided to stop selling the licensed flag t-shirt and are removing it from our stores and website immediately. We thank the men and women in uniform for their extraordinary service.”

According to USA Today, the shirt was created with rapper A$AP Rocky.

PacSun has found itself in trouble in the past. Back in February 2014, a Utah woman made headlines by buying up shirts with scantily-clad women on them because she was offended by them.
