Pitch Perfect 2 and Mad Max: Fury Road don’t have much in common, but they still have to face off against each other at the box office this weekend. On Thursday, Pitch Perfect 2 squeaked past the fourth film in George Miller’s post-apocalyptic saga.

Pitch Perfect 2, which is the sequel to the surprise 2012 hit, scored $4.6 million from Thursday night shows, beginning at 7 p.m., reports The Los Angeles Times. It was directed by actress/producer Elizabeth Banks and is being released by Universal Pictures.

Fury Road comes from Warner Bros. and stars Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron. It comes exactly three decades after the previous film, but still features Miller as the director. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fury Road started its box office run with $3.7 million.

While Miller’s film cost at least $150 million to make, the film is earning fantastic reviews. Pitch Perfect 2, which only cost $29 million, is earning more mixed responses.

Both films are expected to make around $40 million this weekend, especially since they attract two different audiences. But Avengers: Age of Ultron might still be a big draw in its third weekend.
