The upcoming Ryan Reynolds Deadpool seems like it's mostly going to be standalone, but could it actually connect to the larger X-Men universe with a Hugh Jackman cameo?
According to Comicbook.com, Reynolds was asked if Jackman might have a cameo appearance as Wolverine in Deadpool. Reynolds said that he really wants to do that, and Jackman seems open to it, but that it just comes down to scheduling.
So it sounds from that that there's a decent chance we might see Jackman making an appearance, with schedules being the only thing that could prevent it from happening. The movie is currently filming, though, so that's something that would have to be worked out pretty soon.
Reynolds previously appeared as Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, so it would be appropriate for Wolverine to make some sort of appearance here.
As we previously reported, Hugh Jackman has said that his upcoming performance as Wolverine in The Wolverine 2 will be his final time playing the character. However, given that Jackman is open to this appearance, he probably isn't counting minor cameos in that.
Deadpool will hit theaters on February 12, 2016.
