James Bond isn’t just the most famous spy in MI-6. He’s also a stormtrooper, at least according to Simon Pegg. The actor spilled the beans on Daniel Craig’s cameo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
In an interview with The Sun at the Man Up London premiere, Pegg revealed that he isn’t a stormtrooper in The Force Awakens. Instead, Craig is.
“I wasn't a Stormtrooper. Daniel Craig, he was a Stormtrooper,” Pegg told the paper, reports The Independent. “I shouldn't have said that.”
Of course, we probably won’t actually see Craig’s face in the film if he’s just a helmet-wearing stormtrooper. It is pretty cool that director/co-writer J.J. Abrams would let famous Star Wars fans play troopers though. Plus, it will give Hasbro a reason to make a James Bond-as-Stormtrooper action figure.
Craig is currently working on SPECTRE, his fourth Bond film and second with director Sam Mendes. Meanwhile, Abrams and Disney are finishing up work on The Force Awakens, which will open Dec. 18.
As for Pegg, he worked with Abrams on both Star Trek (2009) and Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) and is a well-known Star Wars fan. He’ll be seen in Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation in July.
