Taylor Swift has launched her 1989 tour in Louisiana. Despite playing two earlier shows in Tokyo and a performance at the U.S. Rock in Rio last weekend, this marks the first full stop on the tour, complete with over the top special effects and set list that included 18 songs.

Swift designed this latest tour production with the fans in mind and created a stage that would allow her to get close to her fans. The stage featured a catwalk that went down the center of the floor and portions of it would rotate and rise in order for Swift to see fans.

The setlist is complete with a few Swift classics and a lot of songs off of her 1989 album.

The New York Times reviewed the show and explained that this tour shows that Swift has gone from being the underdog to the cool kid.

USA Today reported that opening for Swift was Vance Joy who performed seven songs including the hit "Riptide" and a Bruce Springsteen cover.
