The guys have voted and this season’s Bachelorette has been chosen as Kaitlyn Bristowe, leaving Britt Nilsson to exit the show.

After the men met both ladies, they were asked to drop a rose in the box of the Bachelorette they would like to vie for this season and Bristowe ended up with more roses.

“Hands down, the best moment of my life," she said, ABC News reports. “This is obviously very exciting. I'm shaking, my heart is pounding out of my chest.”

Bristowe defended this season’s twist to People, saying she wouldn’t have done it if she thought it was sexist or degrading.

“I definitely had my concerns and questions," she said. "But I don't think I would have gone through with it if I thought it was just sexist. At the end of the day, it is still a TV show."

Former Bachelor star Sean Lowe and his wife, Catherine Giudici, have called it “disgusting.”

Before Nilsson was eliminated she said, “Tonight, I'll either be the happiest woman on the planet or have one of the longest, hardest nights of my life.”
