Authorities said a University of South Carolina student was arrested after allegedly being caught on camera poisoning her roommates’ food.
The Associated Press noted that Haley King, 22, has been charged with unlawful, malicious tampering with human drug product or food. Police said she was caught on video allegedly spitting and putting window cleaner in her roommates’ food.
King’s roommates said they set up the cameras after they had arguments with her and she would not leave the apartment.
Columbia law enforcement officials have since viewed the video and said that King can be seen opening several containers and allegedly spitting into and pouring Windex into them.
One of the roommates reportedly ate some of the food before checking the video.
The alleged incident took place on Feb. 4 and King was arrested five days later. She was then released Feb. 10 on a $5,000 personal recognizance bond and is due to appear in court next month.
If she is convicted, she faces up to 20 years in prison.
