Barbie got a makeover when it comes to her signature heels, which she’s been wearing since the doll’s launch in 1959. Mattel’s new line has Barbie wearing flat shoes for the first time.

The new Fashionista line is much more versatile and gives her adjustable ankles so that whoever is playing with her can change her into flats.

Cosmopolitan reports the line will also offer the opportunity to reach a broader range of consumers – with 8 new skin tones, 14 facial sculpts, 18 different eye colors, 22 hair styles and 23 hair colors.

“This line represents a continued evolution of the Barbie brand,” a spokesperson for Barbie told Entertainment Weekly, adding it “was designed to represent the world girls see around them.”

Barbie has come under fire in recent years for promoting unrealistic body images, but Lammily Dolls aimed to change that last year by adding cellulite and stretch marks to the “Normal Barbie.”

There’s rumors a plus-size Barbie is in the works at Mattel, but nothing has been confirmed.
