Sony is producing a female-driven 21 Jump Street spinoff, and we've just found out who will be writing the script for that movie.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie will be written by Lizzie and Wendy Molyneux, sisters who currently write for Bob's Burgers.
If you feel like you've already heard about Sony hiring writers for this movie, you're not mistaken. Back in April, Sony hired Broad City writers Lucia Aniello and Paul Downs for the movie, as we previously reported. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio is still keeping them on board, having both teams of writers put together two separate versions of the screenplay.
In addition to this female led spinoff, we'll also be getting a traditional 23 Jump Street from Sony, plus a crossover with Men in Black, as we previously reported.
This isn't the only upcoming franchise to, for some reason, get two separate male and female versions. In addition to the female driven Ghostbusters directed by Paul Feig, we're also getting a male driven Ghostbusters movie starring Channing Tatum, as we previously reportedImage via Jennifer Graylock/INFphoto.com
