It's been unclear for a while how long the new Star Trek actors would stay with this franchise, but now we're finding out that two of the main leads will stick around for at least two more films.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto have both signed on for a fourth Star Trek film. Both actors received pretty significant raises as part of the deal.
The new cast was only signed on for two sequels, so a lot of people were speculating that Star Trek 3 might be the last we see of them. But luckily for fans, we'll be seeing plenty more of this crew for years to come.
The third Star Trek film, which is evidently being titled Star Trek Beyond as we previously reported, begins filming this week in Vancouver. All of the main cast members will be reprising their roles including Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana and Simon Pegg.
Not returning, however, is J.J. Abrams, who's hard at work on Star Wars Episode VII. Instead the new movie will be directed by Justin Lin, director of Fast Five and Fast and Furious 6.
Star Trek 3 hits theaters on July 8, 2016.
