The lineup for the 2015 Clearwater’s Great Hudson River Revival festival was just announced and several more will be added in the weeks before the end later this month.
The festival, also known as just The Clearwater Festival, takes place at Croton Point Park in Croton-On-Hudson, New York on June 20-21. It was founded by the late legendary Pete Seeger and his wife over 40 years ago to raise funds for the environmental organization he started, Hudson River Sloop Clearwater. It’s the oldest festival in the U.S. that brings music and environmentalism together.
Each year, the festival brings together an eclectic mix of new artists and established stars to perform. This year’s lineup includes The Mavericks, Neko Case, Guster, Ani DiFranco, Béla Fleck & Abigail Washburn, Blind Boys of Alabama, Angélique Kidjo, Shelby Lynne, Bettye LaVette, The Pine Hill Project feat. Richard Shindell & Lucy Kaplansky, The Felice Brothers, The Lone Bellow, Todd Snider, Toshi Reagon & Big Lovely, Joseph Arthur, The Klezmatics and Tom Paxton.
Other recently added artists include David Crosby, Kate Pierson of The B52’s, Los Lobos and Citizen Cope w/Band.
In addition to the performers, the festival also includes family-friendly activities, including the Family Stage, juggling artists, a Children’s Area and storytellers. You can also take a ride on small boats and visit the Handcrafters’ Village showcase to see over 50 artists show off their hand-made items. The Green Living Expo is an area where you can learn about sustainable products and services.
Tickets are still available here.
