Dave Grohl just pushed his dedication to rock ‘n’ roll to a whole new level. The Foo Fighters frontman suffered a broken leg during their Friday show in Gothenburg, Sweden but he refused to stop the show. He actually continued to sing and play guitar while sitting in a chair as his leg was put in a cast.
Video of the incident shows Grohl promising the audience that he will quickly go back to the hospital. While he was away for a time, drummer Taylor Hawkins took over vocal duties. While performing Queen’s “Under Pressure,” Grohl came back to the stage.
“I may not be able to walk or run but I can still play guitar and scream,” Grohl yelled to the audience, notes Consequence of Sound.
After the show, the group posted an X-ray of Grohl’s broken leg, just to prove that it wasn’t an act, on their Facebook page. “Thank you Gothenburg. That was amazing,” the caption reads.
Grohl clearly is enjoying adding new stories to his legend. He’s also the former drummer for Nirvana and has dedicated himself to becoming a rock historian. For their most recent album, Sonic Highways, he took the Foo Fighters on a tour through the country’s most iconic music studios. He even directed the HBO documentary miniseries about the recording of the project.
