Emily Blunt has a new project in her sights. She’s in talks to star in Dreamworks’ The Girl On The Train, which will be directed by The Help’s Tate Taylor.

The script was written by Erin Cressida and is based on the popular Paula Hawkins novel, notes Variety. Marc Platt is producing and Jared LeBoff is executive producing. The studio has had the rights to the book since before it was published in January.

The Girl on the Train is one of the top selling books of 2015, and was on the New York Times Best Seller list for 18 straight weeks. It has sold 2 million copies already.

It tells the story of Rachel, who was recently divorced, which informs her fantasies about a couple she passes during her commute. One morning, she sees a shocking scene at the couple’s home and gets stuck in their mystery.

This new film will be Taylor’s follow-up to the James Brown biopic Get On Up. He does have experience with adapting best sellers, since he helped the acclaimed 2011 hit The Help.

As for Blunt, she just filmed Sicario, which earned rave reviews at Cannes. She is currently working on The Huntsman with Chris Hemsworth and Jessica Chastain. She was recently seen in Edge of Tomorrow with Tom Cruise and Disney’s Into The Woods. In other words, she's been really busy proving her versatility.
