Fiat Chrysler has issued a recall for both Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango SUVs and are urging owners to quit using their vehicles.
CNN Money reported the company made a statement Sunday that during the assembly process for the vehicles earlier in the month, there was an error made that could cause one of the vehicle’s components to break and it would limit the person’s ability to use their breaks and possibly “rear-end instability.”
The company urged car owners to have their cars inspected on site. There is a possibility over 7,000 vehicles may be recalled since they were also built during the period that the affected cars were, though Fiat Chrysler said only 65 cars were actually in use.
Vehicles in the recall were made from June 12-20 and include 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokees and the Dodge Durango SUVs.
The issue was discovered when a supplier was looking over the cars for internal quality review. The company fixed the issue in the assembly process and have resumed putting their vehicles together.
The cars affected are said to likely be in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
In order to find out if your vehicle is on the list, you can look on the FCA website and enter the VIN number for your particular car to see if it needs to be checked.
