A high school principal in Florida was fired from his job following an online post in which he defended the McKinney police officer whose actions towards black teenagers at a pool party last week went viral.
Reuters noted that Miami-Dade County Public Schools released a statement on Wednesday that principal Alberto Iber was dismissed. His replacement has not yet been named.
"[Employees] are required to conduct themselves, both personally and professionally, in a manner that represents the school district's core values,” the statement said.
According to local media reports, Iber commented on an article written about Eric Casebolt and what took place Friday when he responded to a disturbance at the Craig Ranch Community North Pool.
"He did nothing wrong," Iber wrote "He was afraid for his life. I commend him for his actions."
Csebolt resigned amid the public outrage of the video that showed him pulling his gun on the teens, cursing at them and wrestling a female in a bikini to the ground.
