After David Crosby gave the first update on Joni Mitchell’s health we had heard in weeks, her conservator issued a statement Sunday to assure fans that she is doing better.

During an interview with HuffPost Live on Friday, Crosby said that, “to my knowledge, she is not speaking yet.” The singer, who has known Mitchell since the 1960s, said that she did have an aneurysm.

“She's going to have to struggle back from it the way you struggle back from a traumatic brain injury…She's a tough girl, and very smart,” Crosby said. “So, how much she's going to come back and when, I don't know and I'm not going to guess.”

After Crosby’s comments, Mitchell’s reps issued a statement on her website, the first official update in two months. Leslie Morris, Mitchell’s longtime friend and current conservator, approved the new statement. He did confirm that Mitchell suffered an aneurysm, but claims that she is now speaking. Morris again added that, “A full recovery is expected.”

“The truth is that Joni is speaking, and she's speaking well. She is not walking yet, but she will be in the near future as she is undergoing daily therapies. She is resting comfortably in her own home and she's getting better each day. A full recovery is expected,” the statement reads.

Mitchell has said in the past that she was diagnosed with Morgellons disease. She is best known for her songs like “Woodstock,” “The Circle Game,” “Big Yellow Taxi,” “Chelsea Morning” and many others. She was hospitalized on March 31.
