Anyone who uses LastPass will have to change their passwords if they stored all of their passwords on the site. Hackers were able to get in and steal passwords from people.
CNN Money reported the company noticed their site was hacked on Friday and they said while they are still investigating, the hackers were able to steal passwords that were encoded. There is a possibility that the hackers could then use computer servers in order to decipher the passwords they stole.
They also stole reminders people used for their passwords, which could be found easily if the question was regarding your place of birth.
LastPass posted a blog to let users know about the hacking and suggested ways for them to protect themselves from hackers.
They wrote in their post that users are now required to go through a verification process if they use a new device or IP address to log in to the site if they do not have a multifactor authentication process set up. They also suggested that as a precautionary move that users should change their master password.
