This week is a good week for donut lovers because Friday, June 5 is National Donut Day. Dunkin’ Donuts is offering a free donut with the purchase of a beverage.
The best part of the unofficial holiday is that we can choose any donut we want; 70 flavors in total. The only exclusions are Croissant Donuts and Cheesecake Squares.
The press release does say that the offer only stands while supplies last, so it’s better to go earlier than later if you have a specific flavor in mind!
This glorious holiday came to fruition all the way back in 1938, created by the Chicago Salvation Army to recognize the women who handed out donuts to servicemen during World War I.
"Donuts have a special place in our country's history and culture, creating moments of delight, lifting spirits and bringing people together at work and at home,” Jeff Miller, Executive Chef and Vice President, Product Innovation said in a statement.
“We are proud to celebrate this timeless favorite on National Donut Day with our loyal guests by once again offering a free donut with the purchase of any beverage, and pleased to share this offer with all of our donut fans all around the world."
