For anyone creeped out by snakes, this story will make you cringe as it did the couple who purchased what they thought was their dream home only to find out it was infested with the reptiles.
The Capital Gazette reported that Jeff and Jody Brooks filed a $2 million lawsuit against their real estate agent who they claim knew the home purchased was infested with snakes.
The couple said they purchased the home for $410,000 back in December, but were driven out of the house in April by the unwanted guests that were apparently there before they were.
The lawsuit filed two weeks ago, is not only against the realtor Barbara Van Horn, but also against the previous homeowner Joan Broseker, who is the agent's daughter.
"Van Horn refused to keep a lockbox on the premises while acting as the listing agent and would personally unlock the home and turn on the lights and, upon information and belief, check for snake activity before anyone entered," the lawsuit alleges.
The Brookses said that pest control found everything from black rat snakes to shedded skins to tunnels and feces.
