A Massachusetts couple, who were married last month, now have another reason to celebrate after they won $15 million on an instant scratch-off lottery ticket.
WCVB reported that Stacy and David Foster purchased the winning ticket on Saturday from a store in Eastham. The newlyweds requested a $30 Supreme Millions ticket but since the register it was behind was closed at the time the clerk told them to choose another ticket from behind an open register. That move changed their luck for the better as the ticket they ended up choosing then turned out to be the winning one.
The Fosters chose to receive the one-time cash payout and will get of $9.75 million after taxes.
Tedeschi Food Shops, which sold the ticket, will also get a nice payday and will receive a $50,000 retailer bonus.
With their winnings the Fosters plan to buy a house and car and pay off some student loans.
The Boston Globe noted that the Supreme Millions game was first launched in April and three more $15 million tickets remain as well as dozens of $1 million prize tickets.
