One suspect was fatally shot by authorities in Boston and another was arrested as a result of an FBI terror investigation.

ABC News reported that authorities said Usaama Rahim, 26, was shot dead outside a CVS pharmacy by Boston police officers Tuesday after making threats and brandishing a military-style knife. Rahim had been under 24-hour surveillance for weeks by the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force.

Officials are now looking into if Rahim was radicalized by ISIS via the Internet.

Radicalization "represents the newest element of the terrorist threat facing the country, where we have individuals who affiliate with terrorist ideologies but do not coordinate their operational activities with terrorist organizations," explained John Cohen, a former top Homeland Security official.

USA Today noted that Christina DiIorio-Sterling, a spokeswoman for U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz, said that hours after Rahim was shot, another terror suspect David Wright was arrested in Everett.

Wright allegedly expressed interest in joining ISIS and attacking U.S. law enforcement officials. He is expected in court Wednesday to face federal charges related to the Rahim investigation.
