The 18-year-old daughter of David and Jackie Siegel, known for their outlandish documentary Queen of Versailles, has died.
Victoria Siegel was found unresponsive in their Windermere, Florida home on Saturday and Jackie has since confirmed her passing on social media.
“It is with great sadness that we ask you to respect our privacy during this tragic time and the loss of our beloved daughter, Victoria,” she wrote on Facebook. “Thank you all for your prayers and for your support. As more information comes out the family will share it, until that time there is no comment.”
It’s not known what the cause of death is so far, but Orange County Sheriff's Office spokesman Jeff Williamson told People, "It is a sad case.”
David Siegel is the founder of Westgate Resorts and the family has sought out to build a 90,000 square foot home they call the Versailles House. After halting construction on it when the recession hit, construction has started again and they aim to have it completed by next year.
The halting of construction on the home due to financial problems was the subject of the documentary Queen of Versailles, which was a Sundance Film Festival hit at the time of its release.
Victoria was one of the couple's eight children.
It is with great sadness that we ask you to respect our privacy during this tragic time and the loss of our beloved...
