Over a decade after David Brent’s last adventures in an office, Ricky Gervais is bringing back The Office boss buffoon for his own movie. The film now has a U.S. distributor and a 2016 release date.

BBC Films announced the project last summer, confirming that it will center on David’s life as a traveling sales rep and pursuing his dreams of becoming a rock star. That’s why the film will be titled Life On The Road.

According to Variety, the film was picked up by Open Road in the U.S. eOne snagged worldwide distribution rights outside the U.S. and will release it in the U.K. on Aug. 19, 2016. eOne agreed to co-finance the project at the Cannes Film Market.

Open Road will release the film in the U.S. shortly after the U.K. release.

Although the U.K. Office inspired the long-running NBC show in the U.S., it actually ran much shorter than the U.S. version. It only had 12 episodes between 2001 and 2002 and two Christmas specials in 2003. However, Gervais has revived David on several occasions, including for cameos in the U.S. Office.

Gervais is currently working on Special Correspondents with Eric Bana. That film will debut on Netflix.
