Like Fred, Shane Dawson and Derrick Comedy before them, Smosh, a.k.a. Anthony Padilla and Ian Hecox, are transitioning from four minute videos to feature filmmaking. The ones before them haven't had much success, but they'll try regardless as they release the first trailer for Smosh: The Movie.

The trailer was released, of course, on the Smosh YouTube page. Smosh's theatrical debut finds the personalities going to YouTube headquarters when an embarrassing video of Anthony winds up online before his fifth high school reunion. In the process, they wind up in the heart of the video sharing website, which lets them run into various celebrities from the site.

It's clear the Internet duo want this to be some kind of modern day Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, and this would explain why they brought on Alex Winter to direct. And fans of Smosh likely will be happy to see their style has transitioned pretty closely into this movie.

But as someone who can't really get into the YouTube group during their couple minutes-long videos, it's hard to imagine them being funny for a whole 90 minutes. But hey, it can't be worse than Not Cool. Right?

Previously titled The Smosh Movie, Lionsgate acquired the movie in the fall and plan to give it a limited release in theaters on July 22 in L.A., following by a fan screening the day after, and at the same time will release the movie on VOD, iTunes and other online platforms. In addition to the leads, Smosh: The Movie also stars Michael Ian Black, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, Brittany Ross, Jillian Nelson and YouTube stars Jenna Marbles, Grace Helbig, Harley Morenstein, Mark Fischbach, a.k.a. Markiplier, and Dominic "D-Trix" Sandoval.
