It turns out that Tom Holland was auditioning for Spider-Man in public. The British actor, who officially landed the gig Tuesday, was actually testing his acrobatic abilities for all to see on Instagram.

Over the weekend, Holland, 19, posted three videos of himself jumping off a porch. He shows off his somersault skills, which he will definitely need when he reports to work to play Spider-Man.

Holland was among the actors whose names kept popping up in rumors about Sony shortlists for the role. While it was thought that Hugo’s Asa Butterfield was close to getting the role, Holland must have impressed Sony and Marvel executives during his last screen test.

The actor, who starred in The Impossible with Naomi Watts and PBS’ Wolf Hall, will likely make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in next year’s Captain America: Civil War. Sony and Marvel hired Cop Car director Jon Watts to direct the first MCU solo Spider-Man movie, which will hit theaters on July 28, 2017.

“For Spidey himself, we saw many terrific young actors, but Tom’s screen tests were special. All in all, we are off to a roaring start,” Sony Pictures Chairman Tom Rothman said of Holland on Tuesday.

Holland follows in the footsteps of Tobey MaGuire and Andrew Garfield, who previously played Spidey on the big screen.
