Ten people were shot during a block party in Detroit, leaving one dead and nine injured while another Philadelphia block party shooting left three children injured.

According to The Associated Press, a block party was being held on a basketball court on Saturday night when two suspects opened fire, killing a 20-year-old man. Steve Dolunt, Assistant Police Chief in Detroit, said no children were hurt.

One man suffered a critical injury and eight other individuals had serious injuries. They are all between the ages of 21 and 46.

The Detroit Free Press reported that police are investigating the shooting and are unaware of what the motive may be.

NBC Philadelphia reported there was another block party shooting that left seven people injured, including three children between the ages of one and 13.

Witnesses in the West Philadelphia shooting reported that two suspects fired at the victims with shotguns before getting into a car and shooting again.

Police Lieutenant John Walker said, “It looks like they just randomly fired down the street and hit anyone in the way.”

The children who were shot were in stable condition at Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia.
