Moviegoers hoping to have a lighthearted night on Thursday when they went to the movies at Lafayette's Grand Theatre in Louisiana to see Amy Schumer and Bill Hader’s Trainwreck didn’t get the night they set out for, and Schumer has revealed her heart is broken for them.

As we previously reported, a gunman, John Russel Houser, opened fire at about around 7:30pm, 20 minutes into the movie. He killed Jillian Johnson, 33, and 21-year-old Mayci Breaux while injuring nine other people.

“My heart is broken and all my thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Louisiana,” Schumer tweeted on Thursday night.

Police said Houser had an escape route planned out, keeping his blue Lincoln Continental outside of the exit door of the theater to quickly leave the scene. When he saw the quick police response, he retreated back into the theater and killed himself.
