Aubrey Morris, a British actor who appeared in Stanley Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange in 1971, has died. He was 89.
Morris’ agent confirmed his death to the BBC. He died on Wednesday.
The actor, who was born in Portsmouth, Hampshire in 1926, studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. According to his IMDb profile, he had been an early television actor, appearing on TV in 1948. He didn’t start appearing in films until the 1960s.
In 1971, Kubrick cast Morris as Alex’s probation officer Deltoid. Throughout the ‘70s, he continued to appear in major films, including Woody Allen’s Russian novel satire Love And Death, Ken Russell’s Lisztomania and the cult horror film The Wicker Man.
Morris never stopped acting, appearing in My Girl 2 in 1994 and even an episode of Boy Meets World. Just this year, he was in an episode of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia.
As The Guardian notes, other TV credits include roles on Murder, She Wrote, Deadwood, Danger Man, The Prisoner, Jamie and Disraeli.
