Two-time Oscar winning actress Cate Blanchett is turning to directing, but unlike many of her colleagues, she will make her directing debut on television. The actress has signed up to direct a drama in her native Australia based on the story of Cornelia Rau.

As the The Guardian notes, Rau is a German-Australian who was held in a South Australian detention center because it was believed that she was an illegal immigrant after she fled the notorious Sydney sect called the Kenja in 2005.

The project is titled Stateless and has received funding from Screen Australia. According to Deadline, the series will be produced by Matchbox Productions and Dirty Films. Elise McCredie is writing the script.

It’s not clear when this project will actually happen though. Blanchett has been attached to direct The Dinner, a film based on Herman Koch’s novel, since 2013 and Deadline reports that this is still in development.

Blanchett recently won her second Oscar for Blue Jasmine and was just seen in the Cinderella. She also stars in Todd Haynes’ Carol, which earned wide acclaim at Cannes and hits theaters later this year.
