While several photos from the set of Paul Feig’s new Ghostbusters movie have been published, the director finally revealed an official cast photo. It shows Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon ready to kick some ghost butt.
The photo was just tweeted moments ago and shows the four ladies leaning against the new Ecto-1. Speaking of the new Ecto-1, Feig tweeted a picture of that earlier in the week.
Feig has been keeping fans up to date with tweets from the film, which is filming in Boston. Cameras started rolling there last month, with Boston standing in for New York. The movie will hit theaters on July 22, 2016 and also features Thor’s Chris Hemsworth as the group’s secretary.
This is also the first film in the franchise since the second Ghostbusters was released in 1989. There had been several stops and starts on a third film with Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray and the late Harold Ramis, but nothing worked. Sony instead opted to refresh the series with an all-female team.
