Rapper Eminem penned a heartfelt letter to the mother of the late-great Tupac Shakur.

Rolling Stone noted that the undated, thank you letter was addressed to Afeni Shakur and also included a portrait of her son drawn by Slim Shady.

In the letter, Eminem said that he was inspired and encouraged by the legendary rapper.

"When I was feeling at my worst; (before fame, before Dre) I knew I could put that 'Tupac' tape in," he wrote, "and suddenly, things weren't so bad. He gave me the courage to stand up and say 'F**k the world!' 'This is who I am! And if you don't like it, go f**k yourself!' Thank you for giving us his spirit and yours."

Both the letter and portrait were featured in the 2008 book Tupac Remembered, but it recently gained interest again and has been shared online thanks to Reddit users.

Eminem signed the letter, Marshall, which is his given name. His handwriting was extremely neat and the sketch was well done.

The items are currently on display at the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
