The widow of Eric Garner, the man killed by NYPD officer Daniel Pantaleo last year, reportedly turned down a $5 million settlement from the city last week.

Esaw Garner and the rest of Garner’s family will reportedly seek $75 million from the city instead, however, $5 million would’ve been one of the biggest payouts in history.

A source told Daily News the family’s attorney, Jonathan Moore, advised Esaw to accept the wrongful death settlement but also seek money from the EMTs from Richmond University Medical Center who were negligent on the scene, never offering Garner the proper medical treatment.

Friday, July 17 will mark one year since Garner’s tragic death, so the statute of limitations will will run out by then, forcing the family to file a wrongful death lawsuit before then.

In Dec. 2014 a grand jury ruled Pantaleo would not be indicted in Garner’s chokehold death.

Pantaleo’s lawyer, Stuart London, has said he wants his job back. "It hasn't diminished his desire to help the citizens of this city,” he told Daily News.
