Ghostbusters director Paul Feig continues to keep fans updated as filming continues and his latest update showed off the new Ecto-1 car that Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig will be driving in the new film.
On Tuesday night, Feig tweeted a picture of the car, with the caption “#whattheygonnadrive.” While the car looks very similar to the iconic 1959 Cadillac Professional that was used in the first two Ghostbusters films. However, the roof is painted red. It still has that homemade feel, though. The familiar Ghostbusters logo is also on the doors and trunk of the car. A Slimer hood ornament is a nice touch.
Filming on the movie started last month, with Boston standing in for New York. Feig, who just directed McCarthy in Spy, also showed off the new jumpsuits and proton packs that the Ghostbusters will use.
The new movie hits theaters on July 22, 2016 and also stars Saturday Night Live’s Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones as the other two team members. Thor’s Chris Hemsworth will play their secretary.
