Assuming Paramount decides to make more Termiantor films after the release of Genisys, J.K. Simmons says he's officially up for more.
In an interview with Slashfilm, Simmons confirmed that his character did survive the movie and that he's signed on for two more Terminator films.
"I am signed on, so if there are sequels I will by God be there," he said.
But will the sequels actually happen? Terminator: Salvation was meant to spawn a new trilogy at the time, yet those sequels never got made.
Genisys has not been received very well among critics, and according to Box office Mojo, the film is expected to make about $56 million on its opening weekend. That's certainly not a smash hit, but it is at least an improvement on Terminator: Salvation, which opened at $42 million.
The presence of Arnold Schwarzenegger should definitely give Genisys a boost over the last film, but we'll have to keep an eye on these numbers over the next few weeks to determine if this franchise actually has a future.
