Marvel is notorious for having its actors sign contracts for many, many films, but that wasn't the case with Michael Douglas, who isn't committed to any more Ant-Man movies.
In a conversation with Yahoo Movies UK, Douglas said that he isn't contracted for any future films. However, he did sound like he was enthusiastic about more Ant-Man, so it seems he'd be interested in returning if Marvel wants him to.
It's interesting that Marvel didn't sign Douglas on for more, and a single-picture deal is pretty uncommon with this studio. We might not see much of his character for quite some time even if he does return, as Marvel has a pretty busy slate going all the way up until 2019. Paul Rudd, on the other hand, is signed on well beyond the first Ant-Man and will be appearing in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War.
Speaking about the sequel, Douglas said that he hopes next time things get a bit more bizarre and they're able to explore the Quantum Realm.
Ant-Man is doing pretty well in theaters right now, although it hasn't been the smash hit that Guardians of the Galaxy was. It's currently at a domestic gross of $109 million and was number one at the box office two weeks in a row, as we previously reported.
