Country superstar Miranda Lambert had to cancel her upcoming show in Calgary due to "extreme inflammation" of her vocal cords.
The venue took to Facebook to inform fans that the "Over You" singer would not taking the stage. A make up date for the concert has yet to be announced by Lambert released a statement expressing her sadness that she wasn't unable to perform. "I'm so sorry that I can't be at Stampede this week, but I'll be back in Calgary just as soon as I can for all of my Stampede fans," said Lambert in a statement.
Chief Operating Officer of Calgary Stampede Paul Rosenberg explained that they knew fans would be disappointed and wanted to keep them informed about a possible rescheduled date. "We understand that this news is disappointing for fans. We will know more about rescheduling the concert later."
Rosenberg went on to say that he hopes fans will still use their tickets and enjoy everything Stampede has to offer country music fans.
Lambert is not the first artist to have to cancel a performance due to vocal chord issues. Sam Smith had to post pone his world tour due to vocal chord surgery. Adele and Meghan Trainor also had to cancel shows due to vocal chord issues.
Regretfully, Miranda Lambert will not be able to perform her Scotiabank Saddledome concert scheduled for Thursday July...
