Nicki Minaj appeared on Good Morning America on Friday morning, where she performed a mini-concert for adoring fans, but before that she addressed the Taylor Swift Twitter feud stemming from earlier this week.
Minaj told Lara Spencer she spoke on the phone with Swift before she publicly apologized to the “Anaconda” rapper.
“She was super, super sweet and she apologized,” she said. “We spoke for a long time. We were cracking up laughing on the phone. It’s over you guys,” ABC News reports
Minaj is impressed with Swift’s apology, saying “it takes a big person to do what Taylor did.”
Minaj was nominated for MTV VMAs in two categories for “Anaconda,” but felt she was snubbed by being left out of the Video of the Year category.
Minaj explained of her reason for posting about being snubbed in the first place, saying, “‘Anaconda’ had such a huge cultural impact and, on top of that, we broke the Vemo record. I do think if it was one of the pop girls, there would have many nominations for it."
She went on to talk about the way the media glorifies only one type of body type, which does young girls a disservice.
"We can’t have only one type of body being glorified in the media because it just makes girls even more insecure than we already are," she said.
