Despite behind-the-scenes problems, it looks like Disney and Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur will still turn out to be a visual marvel. Yes, it does feature an unlikely pair coming together to survive, so hopefully there’s a lot of story not being shown in the trailer.
This trailer comes out a few weeks after Disney and Pixar announced the final voice line-up, which turned out to be much different than what was announced in August 2013. Arlo, the title dinosaur, will be voiced by The Night Shift’s Raymond Ochoa instead of Lucas Neff, while Inside Out’s Bill Hader voiced a character who was completely cut out. Characters voiced by Neil Patrick Harris and Judy Greer were also cut.
Other voices that made the final cut are Jeffrey Wright, Frances McDormand, Sam Elliott, Anna Paquin, Marcus Scribner, AJ Buckley and Jack Bright.
The Good Dinosaur was originally supposed to be released in 2014, but was delayed to Nov. 25 after a director change. Peter Sohn, who directed the Up short , was hired to direct.
In June, Pixar released Pete Docter’s Inside Out, which has been both a critical and financial success. It will certainly be hard for The Good Dinosaur to compete with the response Inside Out earned.
