Inspired by last week’s Supreme Court ruling that same-sex marriage will be recognized in all U.S. states, a man in Billings, Montana has applied for a second marriage license in hopes of starting a polygamist family.

Nathan Collier, who has appeared on TLC’s Sister Wives with his two wives Vicki and Christine, wants to legally marry Christine. He’s already married to Vicki.

According to KXLF, Nathan went to the Yellowstone County Courthouse to apply for a second marriage license. Their main request is marriage equality when it comes to the polygamist lifestyle.

“We just want to add legal legitimacy to an already happy, strong, loving family," he explained, adding, "We're not even asking for acceptance, we're just asking for tolerance. Let us live our lives together without fear.”

The Colliers are arguing that their multiple marriages should be recognized under the Marriage Equality Act.

The AP reports they were denied a marriage license. Chief Justice John Roberts said that polygamist families could make the same argument as same-sex couples, that their denial to legally marry is discriminatory.

The family plans on suing over their denied application.
