Sure, there have been other R-rated comic book movies, but none have been as anticipated as Deadpool. During the Fox panel at Comic-Con last night, the studio proved that it really did green-light an R-rated Marvel film, in case you were still skeptical.

Considering that getting a solo Deadpool movie in the first place seems insane, director Tim Miller and star Ryan Reynolds seemed shocked that they were even promoting it. At the beginning of the panel, Reynolds thanked the fans right away, especially that one person who leaked that test footage just a year ago. The excitement surrounding that leaked video convinced Fox to make the movie.

“I think it’s an absolute miracle that the studio let us make Deadpool, let alone a rated-R Deadpool,” Reynolds said, notes Slash Film.

“At first it was R, then PG, then R again. But ultimately, I think they saw that the world is ready for something different,” Miller, a first-time director who has been attached to the project for years, added.

While Fox has yet to post the first official trailer online, fans who had their phones on posted poorly-shot versions of it. The trailer is littered with f-bombs, sexual innuendos and dirty jokes. You know, exactly what you expect from Deadpool if you read the comics. It’s also incredibly violent, so Miller and Reynolds aren’t pulling any punches here.

The trailer was met with such enthusiasm that panel host Chris Hardwick actually rolled it a second time. That didn’t even happen at the Warner Bros. panel with the Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer.

“(It’s) the most faithful adaptation of a comic book to a movie I’ve ever seen,” Reynolds, who starred in DC and Warner Bros.’ Green Lantern, said, notes Variety. “I’ve only ever done one other proper, actually not proper, superhero movie.”

Other members of the cast at the panel were Morena Baccarin, Brianna Hildebrand, Ed Skrein, Gina Carano and T.J. Miller.

The film hits theaters on Feb. 12, 2016. You can watch the full panel below. It was definitely NSFW.
