Sam Smith and Disclosure are not only good friends, but have also worked together to create the internationally famous song “Latch.” The two artists have once again joined forces and created a new single for Disclosure’s second album Caracal.
After “Latch” became a huge hit in the music industry, Disclosure knew that Smith needed to make an appearance in their second album.
Disclosure member Howard Lawrence told Entertainment Weekly that, “It just would have felt wrong to not have him on the record. We speak to Sam everyday. He’s our best mate. And he’s the best singer in the world. Why would we not put him on the record?”
Smith and Disclosure were able to write the song in just three days. Lawrence explained the process by calling it the “traditional way of writing songs.”
Much like “Latch” the song “Omen” has a slow electronic beat and utilizes Smith’s ability to reach those impossibly high notes during the chorus.
The music video for ‘Omen’ came out on Monday and Disclosure’s second album will release on September 25.
