We've been hearing talk for a while now about who Tilda Swinton could be playing in Doctor Strange, and now the actress herself has confirmed her role in the upcoming Marvel film.
In an interview with Screen Crush, Swinton confirmed that she will be playing The Ancient One, a Tibetan mystic who serves as a mentor to Doctor Strange.
Swinton teased that we'll be getting a very different Marvel movie with Doctor Strange, saying this new world is all about creativity rather than things blowing up.
"The idea of playing The Ancient One is really just too tickling," she added. "I can’t say no to that!
In the comics The Ancient One is actually a man, but Marvel decided to change the role for its upcoming adaptation, as we previously reported.
In addition to Swinton, Doctor Strange will star Benedict Cumberbatch and Chiwetel Ejiofor. It will be the next film in Marvel's elaborate Phase 3 after Ant-Man and Captain America: Civil War. Not much is known about the plot yet, but in general Doctor Strange follows a surgeon who protects the world from mystical threats.
Doctor Strange hits theaters on November 4, 2016.
