With his personal life in an uproar, his career on the outs and his long-time manager leaving him, he faces the biggest struggles in his life. A local trainer inspires him to get his career and life back on track. The two hour and three minute drama stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Forest Whitaker, Rachel McAdams, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson and Rita Ora. It’s rated R for language and violence.
Famous video game characters come to life in Pixels. When aliens use their knowledge of 80’s video games to attack earth, old school gamers may be the only ones that can save the world. Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Michelle Monaghan, Peter Dinklage, Josh Gad and Brian Cox star in the PG-13 comedy alongside PAC-MAN, Donkey Kong, Galaga, Centipede and Space Invaders. The family-friendly action film is playing in conventional, 3D and IMAX3D theaters for one hour and forty-six minutes.
After pining for his mysterious neighbor for years, a teenager finally gets to hang out with her in Paper Towns. The following day, she disappears but leaves clues for him to find her. The PG-13 drama is based on the popular John Green novel. It plays for one hour and forty-nine minutes.
Set in New Orleans, American Heist tells the story of two brothers that have been on the wrong side of the law. As the younger one tries to start a new, clean life for himself, the older brother gets out of jail and shakes things up, convincing him to participate in a bank heist. The one hour and thirty-four minute action adventure film stars Adrien Brody, Hayden Christensen and Jordana Brewster. It’s rated R for violence, language, sex and drugs.
A teacher and her student bond over pregnancy in Unexpected. As the teacher struggles with whether or not to be a stay at home mom, the teenager faces the challenges of her uncertain future. How I Met Your Mother’s Colbie Smulders stars alongside Anders Holm and Gail Bean in the one hour and twenty-five minute comedic drama. The limited released film is rated R for language.
It is a battle between good and evil in The Vatican Tapes. When a 27-year-old girl becomes possessed by an ancient demon, priests at the Vatican step in to try and save her. They must intervene before the devil incarnate not only kills those around her, but destroys the world. The PG-13 horror film runs for one hour and twenty-eight minutes.
This week Pixels is taking audiences back to the 1980’s with its video game characters. The nostalgia continues next week with the release of Vacation, a revamped version of the popular 80’s film. Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation races into theaters on July 31.
