Actress Valerie Harper was rushed to the hospital after being found unconscious prior to a performance in Maine.
KTLA noted that the 75-year-old was taken by ambulance to a hospital on Wednesday evening.
In 2013, Harper revealed that she had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and was only thought to have a couple months to live. She defied those odds but now a source close to the situation told ET Online that things are not looking good.
However, the director of the Ogunquit Playhouse where Harper was performing, released the following statement:
"Valerie Harper was taken to a local hospital as a precaution before her July 29 evening performance of Nice Work If You Can Get It, at the Ogunquit Playhouse, after reporting that she was not feeling well. She is resting comfortably and will remain in the hospital for observation for the time being. .... The audiences and all of us here at the Playhouse are greatly enjoying our time with Valerie here in Ogunquit, and we are encouraged that she is feeling better."
Harper has appeared in several sitcoms and TV shows throughout her career and is perhaps best known for her role as Rhoda Morgenstern on The Mary Tyler Moore Show.
