Mad Max: Fury Road, one of the surprising hits of the year, will be hitting Blu-ray in September, Warner Bros. announced today.
The film, which stars Tom Hardy as Max, will hit stores on Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D and DVD on Sept. 1. Prior to the film’s physical release, it will be available for download in Digital HD on Aug. 11. It will be available on Video On Demand on Sept. 1.
The bonus features for the Blu-ray and 2-disc DVD set include deleted scenes and six featurettes on the making of the film.
Fury Road is the first film in George Miller’s Mad Max franchise since 1985. Warner Bros. will also release a box set of all four Mad Max movies on Blu-ray. In addition to Mad Max (1979); The Road Warrior (1981); Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985) and Fury Road, the set will include a DVD with the documentary Madness of Max.
Fury Road was released in theaters in May and grossed $151 million in North America. Also starring Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult, the movie earned wide critical acclaim and you can check out our original review right here.
